Aerospace

 BTL is one of the world's largest and most experienced manufacturers of compressor and turbine blades and vanes for the industry.

Fan blades

BTL manufactures fan blades for small and mid-sized engines. Fan blades are produced either by precision forging or oversized forging and milled-all-over.

Compressor blades and vanes

BTL manufactures a full range of high and low pressure compressor blades and vanes from titanium, nickel, steel, and aluminum alloys. Blades, stator vanes, variable vanes,  and engine section stators are precision forged, oversize forged or milled from bar, and all machining operations are done in-house.

Turbine blades and vanes

BTL performs grinding and finishing of high and low pressure turbine blades and vanes made from castings or forged parts.

In addition to BTL’s advanced grinding technology, most special processes are done in-house, including automatic hard-face welding, heat treatment, non-destructive testing (NDT), electrical discharge machining (EDM), coating and honeycomb assembly.

Industrial Gas Turbines

Leveraging its aerospace manufacturing expertise, BTL supplies high-quality industrial gas turbine (IGT) blades to some of the leading OEMs.

Extended range of gas turbine blades

BTL combines its precision and oversize forging processes with its full range of machining and finishing capabilities to offer an extended range of gas turbine blades that require very tight tolerances and have complex geometries.

In-house capabilities include precision forging, machining, and finishing of knee joint components, hip stems, shoulder, acetabular cup and bone fracture plates from titanium, stainless steel, cobalt chromium, and nickel-based alloys.

Process Development


BTL offers world-class expertise in developing and manufacturing precision components for jet engines, gas turbines, and medical devices.
The experienced and dedicated development team of engineers at BTL can develop as many as 100 new products annually, based on customer blueprints and specifications.

Quality Assurance


The quality of every BTL product begins with the manufacturing process, which is designed to meet customer specifications and requirements. The involvement of experienced metallurgical and chemical engineers at every stage from design through production assures high-quality products.

Accountability and control throughout the manufacturing process are maintained by:

  • Shop floor operators responsible for controlling quality at their station.
  • Dimensional inspections using advanced and accurate laser measurement system, CMM, and gauges.

To ensure that all properties meet customers' specifications, BTL has in-house metallurgical and chemical labs, equipped for:

  • Metallurgic evaluation (micro and macro)
  • Coatings and thickness evaluation
  • Hardness (micro)
  • Mechanical testing (tensile test at room and elevated temperatures)
  • Hydrogen and sieve analysis
  • Corrosion evaluation by salt spraying
  • Automatic filtration of process solutions
  • Contamination detection (for LMA)
  • Nondestructive tests (including FPI, MPI, XRI)

About Us

 

Blades Technology Ltd. (BTL) was established in 1968 by industrialist Stef Wertheimer as Iscar Blades in Nahariya, Israel. The company has developed grown from a small operation, founded to supply the Israeli Air Force with spare parts, into a multinational corporation that provides high quality components to major OEMs around the globe. From its founding, the company has been guided by innovation, versatility, and continuous improvement of its manufacturing technology.

Blades Technology Ltd. is a subsidiary of Blades Technology International (BTI), a multinational manufacturing group which comprises three additional industrial plants: Precision Components Inc. (PCI) in Columbus, Georgia, USA (1995) ; Xian Aero Technology (XAT) in Xian, China (1998); and Techjet in Tefen Plant, Israel (1999).
