Fan blades
BTL manufactures fan blades for small and mid-sized engines. Fan blades are produced either by precision forging or oversized forging and milled-all-over.

From customer blueprints through production of ready-to-assemble parts, BTL uses its highly developed forging, machining and finishing processes, to produce top-quality parts made of nickel, titanium, steel, aluminum, and cobalt-based alloys.
BTL's advanced manufacturing technologies, together with its decades of experience, results in a one-stop solution from order receipt to delivery of finished product.
BTL has one of the world's largest and most modern forging houses for forming a large variety of materials. Forging presses include highly accurate hydraulic and screw presses up to 2,500 ton nominal.
BTL engineers have developed unique, fully automated CNC presses to carry out two upset forging operations simultaneously. This proprietary, double-upset forging process is significantly faster and produces accurate, reliable forged parts with superior metallurgical properties.
BTL produces all types of blades using technologically advanced, automated processing lines for milling, grinding and turning of millions of compressor and turbine blades annually.
Milling
BTL uses modern, multi-axis milling machines capable of machining complex shapes in tight tolerances, most arranged in automated lines with closed-loop measurement systems directly linked to the machine, ensuring high-quality compressor blades.
BTL’s milling capabilities include 5-axis airfoil milling from bar or oversized forgings ranging from small blades to mid-size fan blades.
Milling capabilities have expanded to include machining of integrally bladed rotors (IBRs)/blisks up to 600 mm in diameter.
Turning
BTL’s 5-axis turning centers are capable of machining a large variety of variable vanes (spindle vanes) up to 400 mm in length. Most machines have both milling and turning capabilities, ensuring accurate production of complex parts.
Grinding
BTL performs grinding operations on high and low pressure turbine blades, nozzle guide vanes, and nickel compressor blades.
BTL has developed a unique, fully automated process for grinding, resulting in high-quality parts, low tooling cost, and short lead time.
Grinding capacity has increased significantly with the installation of new, automatic lines consisting of multi-axis grinding machines, loading and unloading robots, and an in-line inspection system.
BTL provides most special processes and coatings required to supply finished, ready-for-assembly products.
Advanced metallurgical and chemical laboratories provide support for:
BTL's decades of forging and machining experience provide proficiency in working with the most hard-to-shape metals that are commonly used in the aerospace, IGT and medical industries.

BTL manufactures fan blades for small and mid-sized engines. Fan blades are produced either by precision forging or oversized forging and milled-all-over.

BTL manufactures a full range of high and low pressure compressor blades and vanes from titanium, nickel, steel, and aluminum alloys. Blades, stator vanes, variable vanes, and engine section stators are precision forged, oversize forged or milled from bar, and all machining operations are done in-house.

BTL performs grinding and finishing of high and low pressure turbine blades and vanes made from castings or forged parts.
In addition to BTL’s advanced grinding technology, most special processes are done in-house, including automatic hard-face welding, heat treatment, non-destructive testing (NDT), electrical discharge machining (EDM), coating and honeycomb assembly.
Leveraging its aerospace manufacturing expertise, BTL supplies high-quality industrial gas turbine (IGT) blades to some of the leading OEMs.

BTL combines its precision and oversize forging processes with its full range of machining and finishing capabilities to offer an extended range of gas turbine blades that require very tight tolerances and have complex geometries.

BTL offers the IGT industry:

BTL provides a complete, in-house solution to its IGT customers from blueprint to ready-for-assembly parts.
Building on its proven technological proficiency in the aerospace market, and the unique similarity in the technical requirements of both markets, BTL recently expanded into the rapidly growing medical device market.

BTL can produce a wide range of medical products including orthopedic implants, trauma parts, and extremities parts. In-house capabilities include precision forging, machining, and finishing of knee joint components, hip stems, shoulder, acetabular cup and bone fracture plates from titanium, stainless steel, cobalt chromium, and nickel-based alloys.

BTL's sophisticated, versatile manufacturing technology enables the company to provide orthopedic OEMs with high-quality, competitively priced medical parts.
